You can combine them to create new sounds for one thing - without increasing the size of the sample. Gosh, processing the raw waves is half the fun. If I were you, I would be complaining to the company directly. I didn't know about the Artist Drums issue. The days of having access to the raw samples are unfortunately coming to a close, out of necessity.
#Garritan personal orchestra demo Patch
(2) you can load the patch into Kontakt and reprogram the patch to simply not use the faulty sample (stretch another velocity layer to cover the same area, or stretch a sample from an adjacent key). (1) you can call directly and get personal attention, I don't anticipate that you'll find very many sonic problems, but if you do: Garritan is a great company often you can call the number and speak directly to Gary himself. I have the EWQLSO orchestra and the library has been through several updates that improve its quality dramatically, and it's only been on the market several months. If you find a pop or a click in a sample, you can contact the creators (often directly) who can fix it in the next revision. Now.after all that doom and gloom.the good news is that the high-end libraries like the GPO and the EW products are very thoroughly produced. I completely understand if you object and if you want to boycott products that do this, but I would warn you in a real-world sense that there will be very few products left that you can buy in the future that don't employ this model. Several of the largest ones have promised there will be no more "traditional" sample CD's produced - only libraries bundled with engines that protect the content. Just to warn you, just about all sample companies are moving in this direction. It happens in a sickening proportion, and sample manufacturers will go out of business if they don't find some way to protect their samples, and we as end users won't have access to high-quality libraries anymore if the sample companies can't stay in business. I don't know if you have any grasp of the amount of theft that goes on in the industry (producers, programmers, and engineers who routinely set up circles to freely copy and trade sample wares among friends). To be fair, this is a response to rampant piracy of sample CD's. It sounds like it's real despite the fact that it's not.Yes - my comments apply to all Kontakt/Kompakt Player products.
